Obverse: “C.N. COTTON / GALLUP NEW MEXICO” with incuse numeral 1474. Reverse: “GOOD FOR / $100 / IN / MERCHANDISE AT RETAIL.” Aluminum 38mm. C.N. Cotton was from Howard Ohio and a man of some renown, albeit after leaving Knox County. This token is not from Mount Vernon or Knox county but its issuer was.
